TOUGHNESS

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Philippians 4:13

The most mentally and physically demanding position in football is the quarterback position.  As a result, the quarterback must be the toughest person on the field.  Whether you're stepping up in the pocket and delivering the pass in the face of oncoming pressure or fighting for that extra yard on a quarterback sneak, your physical toughness will be tested every game. However, the truly great quarterbacks are defined by their mental toughness and the challenges set before them on a daily basis. Toughness is not an act or a persona. Toughness is how you respond to adversity. Everyone can be tough when things are going well, it is those individuals who can pick themselves up off the ground and respond in an effective way to build those around them up that truly defines a persons toughness.  If you are mentally weak it will be reflected in all aspects of your life and your toughness or lack thereof will show. A tough person believes that failure is not part of their identity, only a part of their journey towards their ultimate goal.
